It is so fascinating studying the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and The Greatest Commission! (Go ye...). I discovered one more thing:women were the first group to receive this assignment.They gave the breaking NEWS!!!
In Matthew 28,immediately after the Resurrection,Jesus Christ Himself,first appeared to Mary Magdalene and the other Mary. Check this:"But Jesus met them, saying, 'Greetings!' They came to him, held on to his feet and worshiped him.
Then Jesus said to them, 'Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee. They will see me there.' Go and tell them..." (Matthew 28:9-10).Go and tell them,what? Go and tell them,I am Alive!
Beloved,this is the greatest message of our time. The Joy of all Believers! Jesus Christ is Risen! Woman,do not allow 'tradition' to hold you down! Do not be discouraged,deceived or distracted! You are freeeeee to share the Good News! Jesus Has qualified you! You are worthy enough to tell them!!! Tell the world that Jesus Christ is Alive. He is Risen! He is coming back! You are free to preach! You are blessed forever!
People have asked questions based on 1st Timothy 2:9-11.
To understand these verses,we must first,understand the situation in which Paul and Timothy worked.In the first-century Jewish culture,women were not allowed to study.When Paul said that women should learn in quietness and full submission,he was offering them an amazing opportunity to learn God's word.
That they were to listen and learn quietly and submissively referred to an attitude of quietness and composure (not total silence). It is also applicable to new converts (male and female). Before you preach or teach,you are expected to learn quietly without argument!
In furtherance,Paul himself acknowledged that women publicly prayed and prophesied (1 Corinthians 11:5).If a woman should not pray or participate in the church,who then would be in the Choir? Only men? No. Any one that sings has prayed twice!!!! What we are seeing today is the fulfillment of God's Word:"And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days." Joel 2:28-30
Apparently,however,the women of Ephesians church were abusing their newly acquired Christian freedom.Because these women were new converts,they did not yet have the necessary experience/knowledge or Christian maturity to teach those who already had extensive scriptural education.(then,it was only men).
Some interpret the passage that women should never teach in the assembled church,however,commentators/Bible Scholars point out that Paul did not forbid women from ever teaching. I have also searched the scriptures in order to encourage the deprived gender!
Paul himself would never contradict his master,Jesus Who found women worthy to send them to deliver a very sensitive message! Matthew 28:9-10.
Paul would never confuse us. He also commended coworker,Priscilla,taught Apollos,the great preacher (Acts 18:24-26).
Paul frequently mentioned other women who held positions of responsibility in the church. Phoebe worked in the church (Romans 16:1). Mary,Tryphena,and Tryphosa were the Lord's workers (Romans 16:6,12).
Also,Euodia and Syntyche (Philipians 4:2). Paul was very likely prohibiting the Ephesian women then,Not all Women from teaching.
My advice: study/learn before you teach or preach! This is for both male and female. You are blessed.
